On Sunday 14th June, we will be holding a Cup tournament called the 'Summer Cup', which will take place over the course of ONE day, with line ups matches and results all produced on that day.
The Cup itself will be open to all current Fastball managers and you can even invite non-Fastball managers to come along and try their hand at looking after a team for the day.....there are plenty of available teams out there, so if they want to just have some fun for the day, its not a problem.........but it could also be a quick way for people to learn if they have some interest in having a team.
We will look to start the Tournament at approx 3-30 in the afternoon, with the initial Rounds being played in small groups, so everyone will play several matches, with the top teams in each group qualifying for the knockout stages (similar to the way we will be doing the Blitz League Trophy this season). We will then continue into the evening with food and drinks available throughout...........and the eventual Trophy presentation for the winner later in the evening.
You don't need to register your interest before hand, just turn up on the day, but you will only be able to utilise a squad of 20 players for the whole tournament; I will automatically use your 20 players in your current First team squad (or 20 of your First team squad if you have more), but if you wanted to use a different squad of players you will have to notify me in advance (probably soon after the Thursday games on 11th June).
Throughout the tournament your players will pick up injuries, suspensions and loose fitness and this will affect your selections for the Tournament only, but when we have finished the tournament, your players will automatically return to where they were before the tournament started (so anything that happens will not affect your current squad when they return to league action). Your players will start the tournament with no injuries or disciplinary points (so a clean slate), whilst they will also start with full fitness.
Only managers who turn up on the day will be able to enter a team, so if you can't make it, you don't have to worry about your team playing unmanaged.
If you have any questions, then please ask me.....ideally by replying to this thread, so that others may have their questions already answered.
